Casa Europa Project for a family house in the Alicante Golf Course. Localización Alicante, Comunidad Valenciana Arquitecto Pedro J. Cano García Estudio de arquitectura e interiorismo Alicante Arquitectura y Urbanismo Proyecto Unifamiliar en campo de golf de Alicante The project for this detached family house on the Alicante Golf Course has a day programme on the ground floor, in a single open-plan and fluid space with a double-height area, where the living room, a library area, the dining room and the kitchen are located. The first floor is used for the bedrooms and bathrooms. Trust and absolute creative freedom on the part of the developer to create an exclusive building with which he felt fully identified is, together with the programme, the starting premise. On the outside, combining a studied balance between organic lines and shapes with the thermo-deformable surfaces that the snow white “solid surface” material allows, and the classic and solid image offered by the natural stone façade, in a very precise geometric pattern, where both materials are integrated. Elements such as wood and stainless steel complement and reinforce this other balance between the organic and the technological. In the interior, the emphasis is on spatial quality with an emphasis on the treatment of proportions, the visual leaks between rooms and the capture of light. In a single open-plan space, the use of different noble materials on the walls and floors and the use of sheets of water in the interior of the house help to delimit and give character to the different rooms. The furniture pieces, with a very exclusive character and an almost sculptural treatment, accentuate the character of the rooms. Throughout the work, special importance has been given to careful execution, even in the treatment of small details or meetings, the constant search for exclusive solutions that would give the work a personal character and the rejection of the excess of superfluous ornamental elements. This can be seen, for example, in the design of the bathrooms, where elements such as backlit ceilings with images of the sky have been used to give a greater spatial sensation, backlit effects in decorative stones, furniture with very simple lines but with a high quality image and finish, or the combination of large-format white ceramic tiles combined with a vitrified stoneware cloth to give character to the room without losing the sensation of spaciousness.
