The CASA ESCONDIDA (Hidden House) is situated on a plot with a curved geometry at one of its edges at the access level, and its topography features a depressed slope several meters below the street, which is why the social spaces of the house are located down at the level of the main garden. The entrance leads to a vestibule from where you can appreciate a very transparent space through the glass corridors that travel along the metal structures supporting the house. A wide staircase descends to the living areas, revealing a main space that houses the living room, dining room, bar, family room, breakfast nook, terraces, library, kitchen, and various services.

The main living room is enclosed between gardens, with great height and windows on both sides. The staircase descends away from the walls as if floating with its granite steps.

The bedrooms are at street level, all facing south through their private terraces. Each has integrated bathroom and dressing room services. In the master bathroom, we find a Forma XL bathtub and a composition of three Strato I units.

At the basement level, we have a garage for 12 cars, machine rooms, cisterns, storage rooms, a game room, and a gym with its dressing room and bathroom.

The house is constructed with a metal structure and concrete walls, allowing for large clear spans and cantilevers. The entire volumetric structure of the house is clad inside and out with Basaltic stone. The main facade features rolled metal beams following the street curve, creating a cantilever that protects the volumes with vertical strips of light Oak.

The large roof covering the entire construction is clad in Oak wood, extending from the interiors to the exterior, reaching the perimeter edges of the roofing.

The house features a very monochromatic stone finish palette in shades of gray, providing a large neutral canvas to accommodate furniture with different textures, finishes, and colors. The selection of all the furniture was very careful, making it seem as though the space was designed to receive them, as their scale and arrangement perfectly match the architecture.

All the house’s infrastructure is state-of-the-art in terms of water and electrical energy management. The systems are intelligent and maximize resource utilization. We have photovoltaic solar panels and water heating panels. The lighting is very energy-efficient, and in all respects, we have conservation systems. The windows and glazing are fully insulating, allowing for the maintenance of the interior temperature.
