Castle in France Complete renovation of a castle basement. Location Seine-et-Marne, France. Design and styling Jean-Christophe Peyrieux. In Seine-et-Marne, the basement of a castle has been transformed into a luxury two-bedroom apartment. A complete renovation that respects the character of the building and reinterprets it with a contemporary eye. The bathroom is one of its most evocative spaces. The Arc160 bathtub sits naturally within the room, while the floor-standing Origin unit adds warmth and an organic counterpoint to the stone and the memory of the place. Above it, the Origin25 washbasins in Nero Marquina black marble take centre stage. This marble is recognised by its deep black background, crossed by fine white veining that makes each piece unique. A noble, timeless material, with a calm presence that speaks to the history of the castle and adds depth to the whole.
